The Coal Authority web site www.coal.gov.uk does not store or capture personal information, but merely logs the user's IP address (Internet Protocol standard data to be transmitted between two devices) which is automatically recognised by the web server.

The Coal Authority web site www.coal.gov.uk does not use cookies for collecting user information from the site and we will not collect any information about you except that required for system administration of the web server, such as recording which pages are visited.

The Coal Authority Online Search Serice www.groundstability.com does use cookies in order to run the application but these are not permanent cookies and expire after you have left the site. Contact name, address and email information is gathered from you for use in the production of a coal mining report only. This information is not disclosed to third parties and is stored on a secured server. Card payment details are not gathered by the Coal Authority but are dealt with entirely by the WorldPay service.

This privacy statement only covers the Coal Authority web sites at www.coal.gov.uk and www.groundstability.com. Other links within this site to other web sites are not covered by this privacy statement.
