Operation Sludge Control
When the water quality at a new passive minewater treatment scheme turned out to be much worse than had been predicted, the Authority responded quickly to install a new process to treat the water to the desired standards.
Pump up the Volume
With 29 pumping stations located from Frances on the Firth of Forth right down to Vivian in South Wales, maintaining pumping equipment some of which is up to 50 years old, is an ongoing responsibility for the Authority.
