A disused mineshaft has been capped and unsightly buildings demolished on land near Blackwood in Gwent, which was formerly leased to British Coal Corporation by the Llanover Estate.
The site has been regraded and seeded to provide a better profile and to blend in with the surrounding countryside. Water levels in the shaft will continue to be monitored as part of the Authority's ongoing collection of data on minewater levels in the area.
