Improving the scenery

This view from the coastal path is looking much greener now the Coal Authority has completed environmental measures to address the problems of coastal erosion at Frances Colliery's spoil heap on the Firth of Forth.

High faces produced by wave erosion at the foreshore have been a cause of concern for some time. The tip was first regraded and the slopes were grassed this year. The Coal Authority will continue to manage the tip in a professional manner, redressing the effects or natural coastal erosion as it becomes necessary.
