Notice Inviting Expressions of Interest in relation to Rights and Interests in Land and Coal

The Coal Authority are considering marketing the Conveyor land holding which is situated near Penywaun, Rhondda Cynon Taff. The site lies within an area which has a long history of underground and opencast mining of coal.

Parts of the Conveyor site may have potential for opencast coal mining subject to all necessary permissions, statutory licences and consents being obtained.

The sale of the land holding includes surface land extending to about 106 hectares, (263 acres). The site may be marketed in a single lot – or in a number of lots. A plan showing the land holding is available at the address below.

The Authority is seeking expressions of interest in the proposed disposal. Interested parties may as part of their expression of interest submit a copy of the plan   outlining broadly their specific interest area. This is not however a requirement of expressing interest, but may assist the Authority in finalising a lotting strategy.

• Expressions of interest are invited for purchase of all or part of surface land with or without proposals relating to any available underlying coal deposits
