Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM)

The procurement and evaluation stages have now been completed. Five tenders were returned for the supply and implementation of an electronic document and records management system and presentations were made by the two supplier companies with the highest tender scores.

As a result the Coal Authority has accepted the tender from Diagonal Solutions Limited who will implement their WISDOM system by 1st January 2004. The implementation stage will include user workshops to refine the corporate file plan together with the setting up of a “model office” environment in which a rigorous acceptance testing programme will be carried out to ensure the system meets users’ requirements.

As the system will be available and must be used by all staff an extensive training programme will be developed and agreed with Human Resources Department and Line Managers.
