6. Lists and registers

FOI Class 6 Contents:

This Class sets out lists, registers and logsused and maintained by the Authority in the course of its business.

Coal Authority Registers

A register of Licences and Orders is maintained pursuant to Section 35 of the Coal Industry Act 1994 and may be viewed by contacting the Coal Authority’s Mining Records Department .

Planning and Local Authority Liaison - For coal mining safety / legacy issues the Coal Authority liaises with 197 coalfield Local Planning Authorities. Some of these do not have minerals responsibility and for coal resource issues there are 118 Mineral Planning Authorities.
